November 10, 2023 - The Vancouver Basketball Foundation™️️ is honoured to be selected as a recipient of the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund. This funding will directly support The Vancouver Basketball Foundation™️️, Coach Development Pathway Project. This legacy project will allow us to remain a consistent presence in the lives of the youth and communities we serve. By increasing our capacity, we can confidently expand our reach while also creating new programs and events to continue to educate, inspire and play without limits for everyone.

"We are thrilled to be recipients of the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Funding. This is a game changing legacy project that we are beyond excited to bring to our community of coaches who are truly the heartbeat of our organization."

- Megan Pinske, Executive Director, The Vancouver Basketball Foundation™

The Community Services Recovery Fund is a one-time $400 million investment from the Government of Canada to support community service organizations, including charities, non-profits and Indigenous governing bodies, as they adapt and modernize their organizations. The Government of Canada is delivering the Community Services Recovery Fund through three National Funders – Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada, and United Way Centraide Canada. The National Funders distribute funding to community service organizations providing services in communities across Canada.

"I am continually impressed by the passion, dedication, and creativity of community service organizations, like the Vancouver Basketball Foundation. I am equally proud the Government of Canada has supported their important work through the Community Services Recovery Fund. By investing in these organizations and their projects we can help to create a more just and equitable society, where everyone has opportunities to succeed. I look forward to seeing the positive impact of this investment in Vancouver over the years to come."

- Jenna Sudds, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development

Thank you to the Government of Canada, Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada, and United Way Centraide Canada for bestowing us with this incredible honour.
