The Vancouver Basketball Foundation™ celebrates PRIDE.

Vancouver, B.C. - Pride month is a time to celebrate and elevate the voices of the LGBTQI2S+ community and its allies. It is about liberation, justice and community and in sport this includes our athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators.

Sport has the power to unite, yet it hasn’t always been a safe, welcoming space for everyone. In fact, in a survey from Out On The Fields, 81 percent of Canadian participants have witnessed or experienced homophobia in sports. While sport has come a long way, there is still so much work to be done.

The Vancouver Basketball Foundation™ is committed to offering a safe space and we continue to stand for love of self, love of others, love of sport and above all else, love of COMMUNITY. Happy Pride!

For more information and learning on the LGBTQI2S+ community we've compiled some of the top local resources:

QMUNITY: BC’s queer, trans and two-spirited resources center.

You Can Play Project: Advocacy group that works to ensure the safety and inclusion for all who participate in sports, including LGBTQ+ athletes, coaches and fans.
