The Vancouver Basketball Foundation™ and Britannia Community Centre provide safe, free, and inclusive outdoor basketball programming to East Vancouver Youth.

Vancouver, British Columbia -  As Provincial COVID-19 Health Guidelines and viaSport 'Return to Sport' Guidelines are eased, in an effort to get Lower Mainland Youth more active following months of restrictions on activities and facilities, The Vancouver Basketball Foundation™ and Britannia announced a partnership to provide safe, free, and inclusive outdoor basketball programming to East Vancouver Youth to end the Summer 2020.

Focused solely on individual skill development in small, outdoor group settings, VP of Community Impact, Megan Pinske, led sessions for some very dedicated young athletes. At the Britannia outdoor courts, every Tuesday and Thursday morning during August, while most people were still asleep, the Girls were putting in the WORK. Re-developing their skills and interacting with their peers in socially-distant training groups, following months without organized basketball resulted in some rusty shooting, with the dust shaken off not soon after. For the 20+ Girl Who Play Participants - activity, sweat, and movement were once again made a habit on the basketball courts.
